AMOUSEMENT

Marcello Ruggiu,was born in 1980 in Sassari, Italy. Since 1996 he has been composing electronic music and playing live drums with various groups showcasing his diversity as an artist. Heavily inspired by IDM, Drum & Bass and Jungle, In 2009 his first solo album “Breakmalaria” was released on Till2012 Records.
Currently he has been in the studio recording drum tracks for the punk band Rodeo Clown’s new LP. Working under the artistic guise Amousement he has developed an intelligent bass driven sound that revolves around intricate rhythms and deep atmospheric beats.

RELEASE:

Intellistep_01 released for Altosync marks Amousement’s foray into the Dubstep landscape. This EP delivers a nuanced approach with skillful ease that unites all the tracks into a fluid expression.

Fueled by his passion for video games, the opening track “AMM” incorporates 5 levels for 5 different parts of the song. This momentum leads into track 2, featuring Amousement and UZZO’s voices,”Screwdriver” developed from recordings captured through an old Korean microphone. This mic actually required Amousement and Doctor P to incorporate a screwdriver to make the recording possible. Next is “The Battle of the Stupids” completely inspired by the title of a painting by the talented Sardinian artist Roberto Marras. The EP closes with “ASS” a swirling composition of trance inspired distorted drums and acid synths. Intellistep_01 ends begging to be played again.

Teaching himself aspects of sound engineering/production with the help of the internet and ‘dogsonacid’, A.P.Bolan has carved himself a living and lifestyle others would die for, his time is his own time to do with whatever he chooses to do, which is mostly producing Drum & Bass (Neurofuturefunk), DJing and partying.
For about 10 years A.P. experimented using other peoples equipment,due to lack of funds, then came the digital revolution which enabled him to have all he needed at his finger tips in his P.C.
Using Stienbergs Nuendo 3, NI reaktor5, NI kontakt, NI Massive, vst plug-ins and a shed load of quallity samples A.P has had many Dark Hard Funk D&B tunes released thru labels such as ” Ozone Media, IDJ, Oni Records,Wayside Records, Mindtech Recordings and Sciatic Recordings (A.P,s own label ).

Having had the advantage of being able to see the reaction on the dancefloor to his music at a monthly residency at Holodeck, in the Club Ifor Bach, Cardiff (aka The Welsh Club – Cardiff’s only surviving underground music club). gave him the confidence to continue and to have faith in his musical taste and ability and more importantly, his drive and hunger for knowledge of producing D&B.
